Bullpup Grenade Launcher - The Canadian military, as part of the Soldier Integrated Precision Effects Systems (SIPES) project, has developed the next generation of a prototype weapon. Bullpup design with the option of mounting a 40 mm triple grenade launcher or a 12 gauge gun. The next phase will introduce the TrackingPoint force system to automatically detect targets and assist in their defeat. After optimization, this prototype integrated weapon can weigh less than a C7 equipped with an M203 grenade launcher, reducing the burden on soldiers.
A Bulppup rifle means that the magazine is inserted into the gun behind the trigger instead of the front. The main effect of the bullpup design is that the gun can be shortened without loss of effectiveness. A three-charge grenade launcher or a shotgun can be installed on the cannon. Shotguns are useful at close range, while grenade launchers provide more range than hand-throwing small explosives. The main gun fires 5.56 rounds, standard NATO rounds.

The Steyr AUG (selected in 1977) is often cited as the first successful bullpup rifle, entering service with the armed forces of more than twenty countries and becoming the primary rifle of Austria and Australia. It was very advanced for the 1970s, incorporating a bullpup configuration, polymer body, double vertical grip, standard scope, and modular design into the same pistol. Highly reliable, lightweight and accurate, the Steyr AUG clearly demonstrates the potential of bullpup layouts.
The Singapore SAR 21 addresses one shortcoming of the bullpup rifle by using a stiffer slide to improve the quality of the trigger, and by using a projectile deflector to create a somewhat ambidextrous weapon.

Thanks! — Brian Wang The full MSBS-5.56 (Modulowy System Broni Strzeleckiej 5.56 mm) family of systems debuted at the MSPO defense exhibition. While models of various components of the system have been shown before, this year in Kielce the final prototype of the MSBS-5 Bullpup 56B/Grot B firearm was shown. In addition, Łucznik has classic weapons such as the Grot C10 carbine, the Grot C20PS sniper rifle and the Grot C16M machine gun .
After almost 11 years, the development of the MSBS-5.56 family is complete. Joint efforts of the Military University of Technology (Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna, WAT) and Fabryka Broni
At the same time, variants for other types of ammunition were produced on the basis of firearms of caliber 5.56x45 mm. The first gun will be manufactured for 7.62×39 mm cartridges, with a modified lower receiver for standard AK/AKM magazines and for 7.62×51 mm cartridges. The second, in a semi-automatic version, was offered to the Polish Army as a replacement for the outdated Soviet SWD sniper rifle. Fabryka Broni has also developed conversion kits for the Ultimate Training Munition UTM MMR and Simunition FX training rounds. Further plans included the creation of a 9×19 mm caliber machine gun based on the MSBS design. WAT also prepared designs for semi-automatic and pump-action rifles based on the MSBS platform. There are several possibilities, including conversion to 5.45×39mm and 7.62×35mm/.300 Blackout cartridges.
The U.s. Army Had High Hopes For One Specific Rifle
The main premise for manufacturers is to design a system that uses a common upper receiver. This top will then be used as the base for other sections (including the lower receiver in both classic and bullpup designs) to create options for a variety of tactical needs. The design allowed for the construction of carbines, service rifles, shotguns with grenade launchers, sniper rifles and magazine-fed support weapons. Users will be able to adapt firearms to the assigned tasks. Quick-change barrels and various modules can be replaced even in the field.
The MSBS-5, 56 development project began in 2007. The process is handled by the Military Technological University and the Radom Arms Plant. It was completed in 2011 with the creation of a general system concept and 4 demonstration rifles in classic and bullpup designs. It was shown for the first time in 2009.
One of the MSBS-5 models, 56B, is made using 3D printing technology. There is a noticeable difference in ergonomics and functionality compared to the demonstrator
(modular small arms system). It is about finalizing previously created concepts and implementing them into full-scale production. The first to be implemented will be the classic design of a rifle with a grenade launcher and a bayonet.

In August 2012, the first 4 classic design rifles were released. A year later there were 12 MSBS-5s, 56 prototypes with serial numbers KN00001 to KN00016. Next, the assembly of the first 100MSBS-5, 56 is the last element of this stage.
On November 23, 2012, the National Center for Research and Development (Nardowe Centrum Badan iRozwoju, NCBR) decided no. 3/2012 Competition of national defense and security projects. The development of the MSBS-5, 56 project is recommended for further funding. It will continue to be headed by the Military Technological University and the Arms Plant. Between 2012 and 2016, 8 variants of the gun will be produced. The project is accepted
The MSBS-5.56/RAWAT family was first introduced in 2015 at the MSPO event. The team displays 2 of each classic variant (Carbine, Support Weapon, Sniper Rifle) and 2 of each Bullpup variant (Carbine, Service Rifle, Grenade Rifle, Support Weapon and Sniper Rifle).
The development of the MSBS-5.56 rifle is closely related to the Tytan program. The formal connection between the two projects began in 2006, when the headquarters of the Polish Army set operational requirements with a planned completion date of 2019. Until now, qualification tests were carried out on the service rifle MSBS-5, 56KA1/Grot C16, 40 pcs. - GP underbarrel grenade launcher, knife/bayonet and 9-mm PR-15 semi-automatic pistol (renamed Vis 100 in December 2018). It is interesting that the qualification tests took place after the development of the rifle was torn from the Tytan program and when the Territorial Defense Forces, replacing the army, became the commander. The next phase of the project will include testing the classic Grot C10 carbine, the MSBS-5, the 56BA1/Grot B16 bullpup rifle, and the 40mm self-contained GS grenade launcher. This is expected to happen after 2019.
St Kinetics Br18: The Ultimate Bull Pup Assault Rifle?
The MSBS-5.56 system will consist of 5 options for each classic and bullpup design. They will all fire 5.56x45mm NATO rounds and will be based on a common outboard receiver that serves as the base for the other modules. For the classic MSBS-5, 56/Grot C, these are the lower receiver, forend, barrel and stock modules. For the MSBS-5, 56B/Grot B bullpup design, the module consists of: the lower receiver, the barrel, the buttstock (with a distribution lock and 2 shutters), the shutter cover, the case of the butt and the butt itself. The number of grips and stocks available will increase over time.
All weapon controls are ambidextrous. Users can also reverse the bolt and replace the ejection port cover to change the ejection side. There is a 2-position gas regulator in the barrel. Access to the regulator for the classic version is simple. In the bullpup, the throttle is adjusted through the hole in the handle.
The classically designed rifle has a folding buttstock with an adjustable buttplate and cheekpiece. The Marsman variant has a fixed stock, the same as the MSBS-7, 62N, with adjustable stock and underbrushes.
All MSBS-5.56 rifles have easily replaceable barrels. This allows the firearm to be adapted to combat conditions. The family will consist of 5 magazine options for each classic and bullpup design.
Springfield Armory Hellion 5.56 Nato Bullpup Rifle: Tested
Compared to the Beryl rifle, the MSBS-5.56 uses a different level of barrel rotation. Wz. The 96 Beryl is chambered in 228mm/1:9 (this provides good stabilization for standard 5.56g/55g and 4g/62g NATO cartridges). The degree of twist for MSBS is 178 mm/1:6 in.
The premiere of the MSBS-5, 56B bullpup rifle took place on March 21, 2014 at the Piastov shooting range. The rifle was finished in late 2013 and the first shots were fired in 2014. The premiere was tied to the official opening
The lower receiver of the presented rifle differs from the previously presented model. A triangular hole appears on the back of the gun, next to the stock. The location of the controls is almost identical to a classic firearm. The only difference is the lack of an additional magnet release button in the lower left part of the receiver.
The designers tried to minimize the distance between the pistol grip and the magazine, as well as between the grip and the stock. The reduced magazine clearance affects the magazine change and makes these operations more similar to those performed with classic rifle variants. The distance of the handle from the stock is associated with the biggest disadvantage of the bullpup design - the unnatural position of the hands. Designers want the hands not to be pushed too far forward
